Although Apple’s media event on Tuesday was a big success, one can’t help to notice that there was absolutely no mention of upcoming Mac notebook refreshes at all. It’s not terribly surprising since Apple has held an iPod or music event in September or October for the past several years. Even so, most people feel that the notebook update is long overdue.
However, there could be some hope left for those of you (and me) just itching to get their hands on some new Mac laptops. According to Daring Fireball, we could see them in just over a month’s time. John Gruber is reporting that, “those of you holding out for a new lineup of MacBooks will have to wait until October 14, according to sources who, as they say, are familiar with Apple’s hardware plans”. Although just a rumor for now, we hope that Gruber’s information is correct and that we’ll see new Macbooks sitting right next to those shiny new iPods at an Apple Store soon.
