Apple preparing for a notebook refresh?

It’s that time of year again. There’s a bunch of chatter about Apple prepping for an update to their Mac laptops in the “near future”. As with many Mac fans, the mantra, “I’ll believe it when I see it” comes to mind. Although this time, there might actually be cause for excitement. From MacRumors:

…a previous Commercial Times report that pointed to a Q3 (July-September) order for MacBook displays, the paper now reports that Apple has increased its order of “notebook-use printed circuit boards” by 20% this quarter.

Apple has also allegedly told Best Buy stores to expect limited shipments over the next two to three weeks. Just because they tell their retailers not to expect shipments, doesn’t mean that the new line of MacBooks will be available at the beginning of August. There could be unknown shortages causing shipping delays. However, paired with the information about increased part production, the possibility of a refreshed notebook line-up becomes a little more intriguing.

yeah, it’s about time they update the MacBooks. It’ll probably be a while though…
