If you’ve visited the Apple’s refurb store lately, you’ve noticed that they’re offering special prices on certified refurbished 8GB and 16GB iPod Touch units. The 8GB model is currently selling for $199 (over $50 off) and the 16GB model is now priced at $299. Not a bad deal considering you’ll be upgraded to the latest firmware and have access to all the goodies in the App Store. So then “refurbished” ipod touches come with 2.0 firmware? You would think apple would have it sold with 1.0 so you would have to by 2.0.
Good point, Steve. We thought it sounded too good to be true also. Upon further investigation, it looks like Apple’s making you pony up the $20 after all. It’s kind of hard to see, I’m sure they’ve gotten a few folks by keeping it discreet like that.
