Apple Inc. announced today that its Safari 3 web browser for Windows has been downloaded over 1 million times since it became available just 2 days ago.
The company introduced the browser at its annual developers conference last week, which runs up to 2 times faster than Internet Explorer 7 and 1.5 times faster than Firefox 2.
“We think Windows users are going to be really impressed when they see how fast and intuitive web browsing can be with Safari. Hundreds of millions of Windows users already use iTunes, and we look forward to turning them on to Safari’s superior browsing experience too,” said Apple’s chief executive, Steve Jobs.
Safari 3 is equipped with easy to manage bookmarks, built in RSS feeds, effortless browsing and easy to organize tabs. In order to run Safari 3 on a computer, it requires Windows XP or Windows Vista, a system with at least a 500 MHz Intel Pentium processor, and a minimum of 256 MB of memory.
