AT&T Hiring Temps to Manage iPhone Madness

As the iPhone launch date looms closer, AT$T is getting ready to take on the crowds by hiring temporary staff to manage, attend to, and control crowds in its nearly 1800 retail stores.

While these temporary employees will not be selling the actually iPhone, they will be used from mid June through early August and will assist the company with the iPhone crowd, but also to help with non-iPhone traffic and offer minor technical support.

Apple and AT&T stores expecting a massive turn out on June 29th, the official iPhone launch date, due to the fact that sales will be made on a first come first serve basis. Apparently, Apple’s chief executive, Steve Jobs, got wind that some individual stores were offering waiting lists, which Jobs quickly addressed by sending out a personal email to all store managers stating that the creation of such lists is strictly forbidden.
