After meeting with members of Apple’s executive team, Bear Stearns analyst, Andy Neff, revealed that Apple’s anticipated mobile handset, iPhone, will be available at 2000 Apple and AT&T retail stores when it hits shelves next month.
“Apple affirmed its goal of June release for iPhone and expressed confidence in meeting its target of 10 million unit shipments in 2008 give iPhone’s superior user experience, which Apple referred to as ‘transformational’”, said Neff.
In addition Apple will also expand its retail stores within Best Buy from 50 to over 200 to reach more customers in the future. Apple also plans to sell the iPhone in over 20 international stores, with strategic focus on regions with high Apple installed base first, such as Japan and the UK, and then expand to other areas.
Neff added that the company seems to be managing its rapid growth by leveraging resources across the company and have laid out a clear product road map with specific timing on the introduction of new products and what products they have not chosen to pursue. Apple indicated that “the coordination and close cooperation between different groups enable the company to provide superior user experience to customers”.
