iTunes Adds New “Complete my Album” Service

Apple Inc. introduced a new feature today on iTunes called, Complete My Album, which lets users purchase the rest of an album, minus each 99 cent cost of the tracks that they have already been purchased previously.

“Music fans can now round out their music collections by upgrading their singles into complete albums with just one click, and get full credit for those songs they have previously purchased from iTunes. Complete My Album is a wonderful new way that iTunes helps customers grow and enjoy their music collections,” said iTunes Vice President, Eddy Cue.

The new service gives users 180 days after the initial purchase of any song on an album to download the rest of the album at a discounted price. As soon as users purchase one song from an album, the rest of the album will show up on their personal Complete my Album page on iTunes.

Macalicious originally reported on this new service in November 2006 when rumors started circulating that Apple Inc. would make this innovative change.
