Apple announced this week that it will be forced to delay the launch of Apple TV until mid-March.
Lynn Fox, Apple’s spokeswoman, stated, “Wrapping up Apple TV is taking a few weeks longer than we projected, and we now expect to begin shipments mid-March.” Apple had originally projected the launch day to be during the month of February. Customers who ordered the $299 item were supposed to receive their order no later than March 5th, but Apple has now changed that shipment date to be between March 20th - March 23rd.
It is believed that the delay is a result of the device’s software, or that the company is still awaiting approval from the Federal Communications Commission. Just one day after the delay announcement, Apple’s shares dropped more than 2 percent on the NASDAQ stock market.
