EarthDesk 3.5: The World on Your Desktop

EarthDesk 3.5

Software development company Xeric Design, Ltd. has released a cool new dynamic desktop, called EarthDesk 3.5, that is a live picture of the earth and updates regularly to give you an up close and personal birds eye view of current weather, clouds, sun and moon position, and city lights.

EarthDesk also uses Atlas database technology that provides detailed and accurate geographical information and appropriate time zones for more than 10,000 cities around the world. Want to view just your city? Well EarthDesk lets you customize your desktop to be specially zoomed in on just your city day and night, or rain or shine.

The desktop application also features different map projections and lets you choose from various options that suits your needs and fits best on your screen. EarthDesk runs in the background on your computer and updates itself automatically.

Customers can download an evaluation version from Xeric Design’s website, or purchase the full kit and caboodle for about $20. EarthDesk 3.5 is available for both Mac and Windows systems.
