MacScoop is reporting that Apple could unveil a new and super thin 12″ widescreen MacBook Pro at Macworld San Francisco 2007.
The new model would be weigh less then the current model but would still keep its built in optical drive and dual-core processor. Assuming this new MacBook Pro model is true, the expected price range would be between $1700 - $1800.
Benjamin Reitzes, an analyst at UBS Investment Research, reported that these new models could have NAND Flash memory incorporated into them to speed up boot times, which was also reported by AppleInsider in September. These rumors were not confirmed in the MacScoop report, but would coincide with a new model of MacBook Pro’s.
A 12″ MacBook Pro would also help fill the gap that was left after the dissolution of the 12″ PowerBook, which was eliminated during the move to Intel Core 2 Duo processors earlier this year.
