Nike + iPod Sport Kit

Do you find yourself needing a little help keeping track of your workout routines? Well have no hear because Nike and Apple have created the coolest workout manager that syncs up with your iPod Nano (all other iPod models are incompatible), and its just $29!

The Nike + iPod Sport Kit comes with a postage-stamp sized receiver that hooks up to your iPod Nano’s dock connector port, a small transmitter that fits into your running shoes and iPod software that keeps track of your workout time, distance and pace. The transmitter, also known as an accelerometer, is more than 90% accurate and keeps track of your speed and distance which then registers these statistics with the iPod software. Perhaps the coolest feature is that users can also choose a female or male encourager, such as racing cyclist Lance Armstrong or long distance runner Paula Radcliffe, to announce when you have reached your goals.

Setting up your Sport Kit is quick and easy, and your iPod will recognize the transmitter almost immediately. The Nike + iPod option appears on your iPod’s main menu and then allows you to set up your workout time, distance, calories burned and lets you load your favorite workout music.

Once you get started on your workout your iPod transmits your overall progress into the coordinating Nike + iPod section in iTunes and to the Nike + website. The Nike + website allows you to register for free and shows your speed and progress on line graphs and lets you create speed and distance challenges with friends, family or anyone around the world to compete against.

Since the Nike + iPod Sport is awesome and inexpensive, it’s a perfect holiday gift for any sports buff or anyone who wants to get started on keeping track of workout progress. I can only imagine how fast these kits will be flying off shelves.
