iPod, you’re now clear for takeoff!

Apple announced this week that they are working in conjunction with six airliners to offer iPod integration with in-flight entertainment systems.

Air France, Continental, Delta, Emirates, United and KLM airlines will offer 30 pin dock connectors that have the capability to power and charge iPods in addition to allowing video iPods to play on seat-back monitors.

“The airlines recognize that the iPod is what their customers are using. It’s on the go, it’s working out, it’s at home, and now it’s in the air”, said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of worldwide iPod marketing.

Ipod owners can expect to see in-flight iPod integration in mid 2007 and can expect more airliners to provide this feature in the future.
