Microsoft Spoke to Zune

Just two days after its much publicized and anticipated release, Microsoft has announced that they will discontinue the Zune.

We gave it our best shot, but it’s become clear that the Zune has failed to gain a purchase in the marketplace,” said product manager Scott Erikson. He added that they heard the, “(expletive deleted) no, we don’t want a Zune,” message loud and clear.

Microsoft received a mountain of bad reviews complaining about various problems with the Zune, including color, size and weight. In fact, the Zune received such poor reviews and so many complaints that CNN aired a segment about it.

Erikson claims that Microsoft is not giving up on creating an “iPod killer” and will attempt to release another digital music player as early as next year.
