On Thursday, Apple released a Firmware Update for the MacBook, the company’s consumer line of laptops.
This update patches the SMC (System Management Controller) which controls power and temperature regulations within the machine. This controller is a part of the logic board and should help to alleviate some of the issues users have had with their new notebooks.
